In the Netherlands, you can apply for housing allowance, which is possible if you’re over 23 years old and live at one of the following Student Experience locations:
Amsterdam Amstel
Amsterdam NDSM
Amsterdam Zuidas
Leiden

In Leiden, 200 studios have been prioritized for students between 18 and 23 years. These studios have a rental price below the maximum. They can request housing allowance here.
Calculating housing allowance
To calculate how much housing allowance you are entitled to, click here. To calculate the allowance, you take the basic rent price. In addition, you can specify eligible service costs, which can be included in the calculation of your housing allowance. There is a maximum amount of € 12 per part.
Eligible service costs at Student Experience are:
- Cleaning costs for common areas;
- Energy costs for common areas (35% of total energy costs);
- Caretaker costs.
