Celebrating 5 Years of Student Experience Amsterdam Minervahaven

This month, our Amsterdam Minervahaven complex celebrates its 5 years anniversary. A milestone that calls for a little recap to celebrate the moments we had. Since opening our doors in 2020, this student complex has become a home where thousands of students have created memories that will last their lifetimes.

It all started in 2020...  

In 2020, Amsterdam Minervahaven opened its doors and the very first students moved in. It was a brand-new concept: an all-in living environment for international students in Amsterdam combining comfort, community, and sustainability.  

Just one year later, the complex earned BREEAM-NL Excellent certificates for both construction and management. That same year, the location also won the Class Awards for Best Sustainable Student Property and Best Student Housing Property.  

That moment put Minervahaven on the map as one of the most sustainable and community-driven complexes in Europe.

Our rooftop sports field has always been one of the most beloved spots at Amsterdam Minervahaven. Whether it’s football games, yoga sessions, or spontaneous gatherings at sunset, the rooftop is where countless memories have been made. 

In 2022 and 2023, we hosted the Rooftop Basketball Battle in competition with our friends at The Social Hub. And who could forget our cozy Rooftop Movie Nights, where students gathered under the stars with popcorn, blankets, and friends for unforgettable evenings above the city?

Welcoming new generations  

Each academic year brings a new wave of energy and excitement. This year, we kicked things off with the Welcome Party: Class of 2025. It’s always inspiring to see how quickly our residents connect and make this community their own. 

Looking ahead 

As we celebrate five incredible years of Amsterdam Minervahaven, we’re filled with pride about what student life can be. To all our residents, past and present, thank you for making this place into what it is today! Cheers to another 5 years! :)
